Marbella bus station to Hotel Lima and Marbella Inn

Julie wrote to me yesterday:

"Hi Mike, Do you know how long it would take to walk from Marbella bus station to the Lima Hotel or Marbella Inn Hotel? Can we walk or how long would it be in a taxi? My daughter and 4 of her friends are coming out to Marbella in the summer. I booked their flight for them yesterday and I am now helping them to book a hotel."

I replied, "Hi Julie, Thank you very much for checking in to www.gomarbella.com Both the Lima hotel, seen here in the picture and the Marbella Inn are about 25 minutes on foot from the Marbella bus station pulling a suitcase. The Marbella Inn is slightly closer. It would be a pleasant walk down from the bus station if they weren't carrying luggage.

I suggest they take a taxi from the Marbella bus station on their arrival. It would be a minimum Marbella taxi fare of around 6 euros. They would need two taxis for five travellers.

The Lima is more of a hostel than a hotel but it is really well situated, near the beach. It is only 150 metres from the beach and 5 minutes from the old town. Location wise you can't go with either hotel.

I hope this helps, have a great stay and don't hesitate to ask for any help

Best wishes from Marbella Mike"

PS: You can now do online bus ticket reservations through the gomarbella reservation system.

Hi Mike,

Hi, I am going to Marriott's Marbella ocean resort with my sisters, mom and a 7 years old niece.

1. As I search through the website, the taxi can only take up to 4 people and we have 5. So we can't take taxi, right?

2. If we rent a car, will it be hard to drive from the Malaga airport to Marbella resort?

3. Do we need a car while staying in Marbella resort? will it be easier to take the bus or will it be easier to drive the car? Will there easy to drive around in the city? Will it be easy to park?

4. Is the driver on the right side?

5. We are arriving at the Malaga airport at 13:20 and the bus leaves at 13:45 and the next bus will be 15:30. So I am thinking it takes too long to wait for the bus at 15:30, or will it take a long time for us to get the luggage? Do you think it's worth to wait until 15:30?

6. if we take the bus from the airport to Marbella, we still have to take some transportation to the address :Crta. de Cadiz, KM 193, Urb. Marbella del Este
Marbella, 29604 Spain (Marriott's resort). What is the option here? How much would it be if we take 2 taxi from Marbella bus station to the ressort? ...what about bus no. 19. It's all in Spanish, I don't understand at all.

7. Can we take bus no. 19 from airport to the resort?

thanks in advance,
Phoebe

Hi Phoebe

Thank you very much for writing in to gomarbella.

I have just sent you an email with all the necessary steps to get from Malaga airport to Marriotts Marbella by bus.

(For any other readers, please do a search from the Google search box on this page typing in "Marriotts Marbella" and the first link that comes up will bring you my suggestions.)

Just while I am looking at your question, we drive on the right in Spain so the driver is on the left. About the taxis, yes,you are right, the maximum number of passengers is 4 so a party of 5 would need 2 taxis.

Thanks again Phoebe, I'll be back after the weekend to answer any other questions. As I said before, the weather is really great at the moment.

Best wishes Mike
