| I am coming to Marbella in May and arriving at Malaga Airport. I have been told that the only way to reach Marbella is by taxi - this will cost €70 one way (2007) I am pretty sure that there is a bus AND train service to Marbella or at least part of the journey.
Are there buses from the airport to Marbella or nearby?
Is the bus station for Marbella at the airport or in Malaga city?
How often do the buses run?
How much does the journey cost?
How long does it take?
Hi Patricia There is a dedicated bus service from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus Station, every day of the year.
Check this page for the summer and winter schedule for the Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus Station bus service. You'll find the timetable here. Make sure you look at the winter airport departures column. If you follow the links from this page you'll get all the information you need about bus travel on the Costa del Sol.
The bus stop at Malaga Airport is straight in front of Arrivals. Take the direct bus from the airport to Marbella, it is a fantastic service and very cheap. It take 45 minutes and costs around €8.00. (2012) You buy your ticket on the bus when you get on at Malaga airport and when you go back to the airport from the ticket office inside the Marbella bus station
The train from Malaga airport only goes as far as Fuengirola train station and you would then need to take a bus or a taxi to Marbella.
Thanks for writing in Patricia and have a great visit.
