How do I get from Malaga Airport to Marbella?

I am coming to Marbella in May and arriving at Malaga Airport. I have been told that the only way to reach Marbella is by taxi - this will cost €70 one way. I am pretty sure that there is a bus AND train service to Marbella or at least part of the journey.
Are there buses from the airport to Marbella or nearby? Is the bus station for Marbella at the airport or in Malaga city?
How often do the buses run? How much does the journey cost? How long does it take, approximately 2 hours?

Take the bus from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus Station

Hi Patricia There is a dedicated bus service from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus Station, every day of the year.

The bus stop at Malaga Airport is about 50 metres to the right as you come out of the airport arrivals area into the big covered, noisy bus and taxi pickup area. Walk along the pavement and you see other passengers waiting for the bus at the bus stop. Take the direct bus from the airport to Marbella, it is a fantastic service and very cheap. It take 45 minutes and costs about €4.05 now. You buy your ticket on the bus when you get on at the airport and when you go back to the airport from Marbella at the end of your holiday, from the ticket office inside the Marbella bus station

The train from Malaga airport only goes as far as Fuengirola and you would then need to take the bus or a taxi e to Marbella.

This is the Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus station bus picking up passengers.. Come out of the Malaga airport baggage reclaim area, turn right, go out of the building into the covered pick up area and then walk right again until you come to the bus stop 50m along.
