| The Marbella to Estepona bus route follows the CN340 (Carretera Nacional 340) on the sea side from Estepona to Marbella and the inland side from Marbella to Estepona. DO NOT EVER attempt to cross this road on foot at any point unless you are using an underpass or footbridge over the road. It is lethal and the road traffic travels far too fast. You will have no chance. If you insist, try to carry some form of identification or contact numbers for immediatate relatives. |

The new San Pedro temporary bypass road system opened 11/05/08 and will last until at least October of 2010 perhaps longer with the crisis and cutback.
The buses no longer travel through San Pedro de Alcántara and until the end of the tunnel works the present San Pedro bus station stop is about 500m away down from the town towards the sea on the temporary bypass.
Expect bus stops on the approaches to San Pedro along this stretch to change position from time to time until the tunnel is completed. |
