My wife reminded that me that we visited friends at the Fuengirola Park Hotel 10 years ago. She has a better memory than Google and said it was the Torreblanca train stop.
I phoned the Fuengirola Park Hotel just now Tel: 00 (34) 952 47 00 00 and spoke to Raquel, a receptionist who sounded very pleasant. She said that if you are coming from Malaga Airport it is best to take the Fuengirola train and get off at the Torreblanca train stop. It is the second last train stop before Fuengirola. The train stop before is Carvajal. The Fuengirola Park Hotel is 100 metres from the train stop on a slight downhill slope.
I asked her if there were any steps and she said no. But, Avril, the train station at Malaga Airport is about 600 metres from the airport and you need to negotiate some steps walking up to the platform. There are trains every 30 minutes to Fuengirola from Malaga airport.
Why is the train from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola Park Hotel preferable to a bus?
Taking a bus to Fuengirola from Malaga Airport involves changing buses twice and would not be recommended for your husband especially if you are pulling suitcases.
