Malaga airport is situated just off the A7 Autovía de la Costa del Sol on the outskirts of the capital, only 8kms from the Malaga city centre. At present it has two terminals, T1 and T2. The airport is currently undergoing a major extension due to finish late 2009 which will double its check in capacity and with a second runway take the passenger capacity to well over 9 000. Access to the airport has been changing almost every day, leave a margin for surprises.

Airport Taxis There are normally around 200 taxis in reserve at the airport and waiting in the arrivals tunnel. Every driver carries an official booklet stating exactly what the fare will be to your destination, depending on whether is is a weekday, evening, weekend or bank holiday journey. If you are travelling beyond Fuengirola ask the driver to take the toll road as far as Marbella, it is much safer and faster and will only add around 8 euros to the fare in summer.
