Morning Markets in Marbella and on the Costa del Sol

"El Barato" means the cheap market. You can get some bargains and the fruit is always fresh. Mercadillo means little market.

All the markets on the Costa del Sol take place in the morning starting at 9am through to 2pm. Unless there is heavy rain, the morning markets will open for business as usual even if the weather is not as bright as usual. The stall holders often get to the morning market site the night before and sleep in their vans to be ready for the early market shoppers.

Ask any taxi driver to take you to the morning market where you want to go.
