What day is the morning market at La Cala de Mijas?
The La Cala de Mijas morning market is on a Saturday morning. I took a trip by bus from Marbella to check out the market. In the market I met Lydia who you see in the picture above.
Lydia was promoting a live music venue in La Cala. La Cala de Mijas by the way is a great place for live music. Meeting her made a nice change to photographing the Marbella to Fuengirola bus stops and I hope she gets lots of visitors to her bar
How far is the Grand VIK Costa del Sol Hotel from the La Cala de Mijas bus stop?
It’s about 400 metres from the the La Cala bus stop and it’s not worth getting a taxi to the hotel. I wish I could say I know everything about the Costa del Sol but this was the second reason I was in La Cala. I needed to measure the distance.
A Gomarbella traveller had written to ask me if she should get a hire car when staying in La Cala or could she just use the bus. I told her a bus will be absolutely fine for getting up and down the coast from La Cala de Mijas. It’s right on the beach, the Aldi and Lidl supermarkets are easy walking distance and there are lots of bars and great restaurants.
Can you recommend a good restaurant in La Cala de Mijas?
Yes! If you like Thai food make sure you go to the Thai Royal Orchid restaurant in La Cala de Mijas. A friend of mine Chatchewan owns the restaurant and his young daughter is an expert golfer. Ask him about his daughter! I’m not just recommending it because I know Chat, the food is really good. Try it.
