Shaz wrote to ask  how to find her way to the Los Amigos Beach Club Reception.  She was  travelling from Malaga airport to the resort and arriving at midday.  I took the picture above for her. It shows the resort reception on the left. On the right just out of sight is the busy A7 coastal road.

Is there a bus stop near the Los Amigos Beach Club Reception?

Shaz on the left you’ll see the entrance to the Los Amigos Beach Club Reception. The resort is situated in the Playa Marina Urbanisation.  The access to the underpass tunnel to the Playa Marina beach is at the end of the car park on the right. When you get off the bus from Fuengirola you will walk back from the Playa Marina bus stop to the bend in the road.  It’s about 500 metres but you are quite safe inside the protective crash barrier.   Look to your left and you’ll see the Los Amigos Beach Club Reception and the lovely green lawns.

How do I get to Los Amigos Beach Club from Malaga airport?

First of all take the train to Fuengirola

Midday is a great time to arrive at Malaga airport. You have lots of time to get to Los Amigos Beach Club comfortably without hurry or worry. Take the train from Malaga airport train station to Fuengirola at the end of the line. It’s a 43-minute journey and there are three trains every hour so don’t rush. When you’ve collected your suitcases, just stroll to the train station in front of Arrivals and get your tickets from the ticket office or one of the ticket machines just before the barriers.

After arriving in Fuengirola walk to the bus station.

One  short block away from the train station, walking towards the sea, is the Fuengirola bus station. Again no hurry, there are two buses every hour. You’ll be catching the M220 bus to Marbella. Check through at this list of all the bus stops between Fuengirola and Marbella. The closest bus stop to Los Amigos Beach Club Reception is the Playa Marina bus stop. Look out for the El Faro de Calaburra lighthouse on top of the hill next to the road on your right. Your Playa Marina bus stop is next.

Is it easy to get to the beach from Los Amigos Beach Club?

Yes. There’s an underpass tunnel from the end of the car park in front of the Los Amigos Beach Club Reception. It takes you safely under the busy coastal road and comes out next to the Playa Villacana Beach Restaurant. Look at the entrance to the underpass and you’ll see the restaurant on the other side of the road. Cold beers, chilled wine and delicious sea food are waiting for you! There is also a pedestrian footbridge to take you back to the Los Amigos resort.

  1. Hi Mike! I am travelling to Fuengirola with a friend next week. We would love to visit the shopping centre "La Cañada" in Marbella. Which is the best way to get there? Do you know how much it could cost getting there by bus and what bus line we would need?
    Thanks in andvance!!

  2. Hello Paul, I can't thank you enough for pointing that out. Somehow updating the page yesterday I reversed the headings.

The left hand column is now Malaga Airport to Marbella and the right hand column is Marbella to Malaga Airport. The times have been treble checked. From the airport the bus you are looking at leaves at 12.30. Sincered apologies and another million thanks for letting me know.

I prefer to be contacted through the blog or Twitter or Facebook Paul so that any dialogue is public and can help others. Thank you again for taking the trouble to get in touch. Have a good journey and I hope all your connections go smoothly. Best wishes from Marbella Mike

  3. Its not at all easy trying to contact Mike of GO MARBELLA as I could not find any email address to send comment to. The instructions are quite weird. However Mike if you recieve this then could I mention that your updated version of the timetable from Malaga airport to Marbella bus station states that there is a bus at 12.15 and the version on the bus companies website Avanza states 12.30. Can you tell who is right?
