Fuengirola Bus Station

Fuengirola bus station is just a bus stop with a ticket office on a street corner

However, Fuengirola bus station is an important transport hub on the Costa del Sol. Look at the picture below. You can just see the buses on the street corner next to the bus station. Exactly one block away over on your right is the Fuengirola train station under the red sign.  When you come out of the train station walk towards the sea and you’ll be at the bus station in minutes. Not far to pull your suitcase! If you’re planning on taking a taxi from the bus or train station you’ll see taxis at the rank outside the Fuengirola train station on the right. There’s also a taxi rank right opposite the bus station.

Coastal and local urban buses pass through the Fuengirola bus station

Inter-urban buses

 The buses on the coastal road from Malaga bus station will first call in at Torremolinos. Then stop here in Fuengirola. Next they travel to Marbella bus station passing through the Marbella town centre before travelling up to the bus station. The next stop is in San Pedro de Alcantará before terminating the journey in Estepona town centre.  

A popular destination is Mijas Pueblo up in the mountains behind Fuengirola.  The timetable will show buses running frequently  from  Fuengirola bus station up to Mijas Pueblo.

NOTE:
The direct bus from Malaga airport to Marbella does not stop in Fuengirola. It travels on the inland AP7 toll road.

Local buses

The  local bus routes cover the whole of Fuengirola and also stop in the centre. For example if you fancy a visit to the very popular Dunnes shopping centre then take the local bus to the Miramar shopping centre.

Long Distance bus to Faro on the Algarve starts in Fuengirola

If you are travelling from  Fuengirola to Faro  on the Algarve in Portugal, start your bus trip at the bus station in Fuengirola.  Faro bus station is the terminus for the route.  Your bus route to the Algarve will take you first to Malaga bus station and then swing inland to Sevilla, stopping at the Plaza de Armas bus station before heading west towards Portugal.

To book this journey simply type in Fuengirola as your departure point and Faro as your destination. Set your outward bound and return dates if you are travelling both ways.
