Pamplona bus station is magnificently situated in the very centre of the city in Calle de Yanguas y Miranda. It’s a very short bus ride away from the Pamplona train station costing less than €2. I could have walked that distance but why not take a bus if you have over 800kms walk or ride ahead of you? Some pilgrims start their Camino in Pamplona and others will travel by bus on over the Pyrenees to Saint Jean Pied de Port in France. Actually if you are looking at this Pamplona bus station page, your journey has already started. In the picture below you see a group of pilgrims both walkers and cyclists waiting for the driver to open the luggage compartments under the bus. The Artieda bus is about to set off to Saint Jean Pied de Port just over the Pyrenees.

Get your bus ticket well ahead!
If you have your pdf ticket confirmation in your hand or on your phone after buying your ticket online with Gomarbella bus ticket reservation system go straight to the bus. If you are buying your onward ticket to Roncesvalles from the Nº 3 ticket office at Pamplona bus station from April to September, Arteada advise getting your bus ticket up to two hours before departure. They add that even arriving two hours early may not be always be early enough to guarantee a seat.
Travelling with a bicycle from Pamplona to Roncesvalle or Saint Jean
Biking pilgrims (bicigrinos in Spanish) have it more difficult. Bicycles can’t be reserved on online. You need to go to Ticket Office Nº 3 and check them in first. Possessing an online bus ticket does not guarantee tranport of the bike and again Arteada advise early arrival. Regarding packaging of the bike, you only need to take off the front wheel and pannier bags
