The  train timetable  from Malaga airport to Fuengirola is a fantastic service  The timetable shows that trains run every twenty minutes.  The local services train is known as the C1 or Cercanias.  There is no direct bus service from Malaga airport to Fuengirola but the C1 train line fills the gap perfectly.

The Cercanias train service from  Malaga airport train stop to Fuengirola train station runs every 20 minutes. The service starts at 6 in the morning and runs through to midnight. Trains pass in both directions every hour. From Fuengirola train station towards Malaga Centro and from Malaga Centro towards Fuengirola train station.  The first stop after Malaga airport train station is the Plaza Mayor stop. A short distance after Plaza Mayor along the line from the airport towards Fuengirola is the La Colina train stop which is very popular with local commuters.

Don’t hurry to get  from baggage retrieval in the airport  to Malaga airport train station. It’s only a five minute walk and by the time you’ve  got your ticket from the machines at the entrance to the station or from the ticket office window, your train will be approaching the train stop.

Keep an eye on your luggage! There are lots of passengers getting on and off the train!  I say that to all my travellers.
